We’ve had an amazing year so far as a studio, and as we ride the high of our Summer party, FuturFest, we’re thrilled to announce that we are finalists for the Health and Wellbeing Award in the GamesIndustry.biz Best Places to Work Awards 2024.
Similar to the success of FuturFest, this award nomination is a huge testament to the amazing hard work of our People Team whose efforts are dedicated to making sure everyone at FuturLab is happy and healthy.
As a commitment to health and wellbeing at FuturLab, we’re proud to have a dedicated Studio Welfare Manager, Hayley Blundy, who recently launched our internal weekly wellbeing program. Designed to raise awareness, spark conversation, and encourage engagement, this program is guided by the adorable capybara mascot from FuturFest. Each day, we focus on a different theme of wellbeing—emotional, physical, occupational, social, spiritual, intellectual, environmental, and financial. From ‘Move-it Monday’ desk stretches to ‘Wellness Wednesday’ meditation, each day has activities and discussions that people can opt-in to if they wish. The programme has already sparked more open conversations around wellbeing and built a stronger sense of community as people share their personal experiences and concerns.
Hayley will be sharing her expertise on wellbeing and mental health in the workplace at the GamesIndustry.bi HR Summit, with the Best Places to Work Awards happening later that evening. If you’re interested in learning more, don’t miss her talk, 'Putting People First – Practical Tips for Mental Health and Wellbeing Support', at 11:30am on September 18th. Later in the afternoon, she’ll also be leading a roundtable at 2pm: 'It’s Cool to Be Kind – Stories of Great Mental Health and Wellness in the Workplace.'
Congratulations to all the finalists in the Best Places to Work Awards 2024. We're look forward to chatting with as many of you as possible during both the HR Summit and the awards evening! Best of luck to everyone who is nominated.
